Kismet wireless network detector, sniffer, and intrusion detection system

Kismet is an 802.11 layer2 wireless network detector, sniffer, and intrusion detection system. Kismet will work with any wireless card which supports raw monitoring (rfmon) mode, and (with appropriate hardware) can sniff 802.11b, 802.11a, 802.11g, and 802.11n traffic. Kismet also supports plugins which allow sniffing other media such as DECT.
Kismet identifies networks by passively collecting packets and detecting standard named networks, detecting (and given time, decloaking) hidden networks, and infering the presence of nonbeaconing networks via data traffic.

Aircrack-ng keys cracking program

Aircrack-ng is an 802.11 WEP and WPA-PSK keys cracking program that can recover keys once enough data packets have been captured. It implements the standard FMS attack along with some optimizations like KoreK attacks, as well as the all-new PTW attack, thus making the attack much faster compared to other WEP cracking tools.
In fact, Aircrack-ng is a set of tools for auditing wireless networks.

VisualGPS (Freeware) incorporates many advanced features found in professional programs.  Its sole purpose is to display graphically specific NMEA 0183 sentences and show the effects of selective availability (SA).

Features:

• Azimuth and Elevation Graph - View all satellites that are in view. Each satellite identifies its pseudo random number (PRN) and its azimuth and elevation. Also plot and print  the physical mask angle.

Einen Windows-PC mit einem WLAN zu verbinden ist immer noch ein fehleranfälliger Prozess: SSID finden, Verschlüsselungstyp einstellen, Passwort korrekt eintippen. Wenn der Prozess auf einem Rechner geklappt hat, exportiert der c't WLAN-Kloner alle Einstellungen in eine Datei, die er auf einem anderen Rechner wieder importiert. Auf Wunsch richtet er auch gleich einen USB-Stick so her, dass das automatisch geschieht. Auf so einen Stick muss man dann besonders gut aufpassen: Da die Datei den WPA-Schlüssel enthält, kann jeder Finder das WLAN mitbenutzen. (je)
